August 30 nine eleven "Wings of Peace"The fifth anniversary of the tragedy that befell us all, is upon us, a time in history that none of us will ever forget, at that time a South African artist living in Maple Ridge BC, Canada, Kathleen Tonnesen, painted a memorial to the souls of the departed, the memorial "Release of the Souls" featured on the web site www.World-Memorial.org that will be ordained at ground zero, on 9/11/2006.
My contribution as an artist and friend of Kathleens, was to design and manufacture the "Wings of Peace". The wings of peace are the Stars and stripes on childrens fairy wings, and are featured on the world memorial site and are given the title of a education centre for the children orphaned by 9/11, and the children of the world to educate them the values of leadership, compassion, character, integrity and strength in the face of adversity. The story of the wings of peace evolves from the "Midnite Fairy childrens Store in Maple Ridge BC, (www.midnitefairy,ca) where the children are told that the Queen of the fairies flies to the top of the tallest tree in her kingdom, flutters her wings and the fairy dust sprinkles down and spreads love, joy happiness and peace all around. The wings of peace spreads peace and commitment to the education of the chidren around the world, and as with the Release of the Souls is a gift to the people of America from the people of Canada.

August 28 Alzheimers "Creativity is good for the mind"While attending a workshop for personal development called "Pursuit of Excellence", one of the commitments of this program is to volunteer time in the community. I washed dishes at a local Seniors center and also spent time with the Alzheimers Society of Canada, carrying out data entry of lists of Care Homes and facilities. My Mother died of Alzheimers Dementia, its a disease that affects one in four families in Canada, and it has a horrific affect on those families, hence my interest, and I decided to write a program to include healing art, for the well being of Alzheimers patients, to improve the quality of their life. My program is titled the "The common sense approach to a healthy mind". It consists of a routine that care givers would excercise with their patients to stimulate their memory through the senses, and improve their mind and thereby their health. We learn from Norman Cousins book "Anatomy of an illness" that laughter is good for the heart, my program adds the premise that "creativity is good for the mind". It is a proven scientific fact that this program has, an equal healing effect of any drug available to Alzheimers patients, with none of the side effects, for further information or a copy of the program please contact the following.
